I know it might look like it, but I haven't abandoned the game, it's just that too much stuff wasn't working at all when I got back to work, so I pretty much had to write the code all over (most of the text was already written at least, thankfully)

Took this opportunity to switch to another scripting language, and redo the framework entirely, as always if you encounter a bug let me know and I'll fix it asap! Overall the experience should be a bit smoother than previous versions.

Due to this there isn't a lot of new text, but it should make it easier for me to add new passages in the future.

To top it off, when testing the sentence duration on the new upgraded booths, I managed to get myself trapped inside one. Only recently got released, and immediately fixed the bug (after a long shower of course)...


Here's a brief summary of the things that changed or were added:

  • Moved to Harlowe 3.2.2 (formerly used Sugarcube 2.34.1)
  • Revamped the game's intro to make it shorter and start in the machine
  • Passages appear faster for you speedrunners
  • No more fixed scenes, everything happens in a random order (even the "non-encounter" ones)
  • Synonym system (for those who remember Crucible of Xes, I had a similar system in place), so now for certain common words the game will generate a random synonym each time
  • The variables $statsAnal, $statsOral and $statsOther are replaced by one called $usersServiced
  • For the sake of narrative, switched to a monetary goal instead of a duration for the sentence
